CAD Drafting / Engineering Technician

Session Solar, a national solar company located in Scotts Valley, CA, is seeking an experienced CAD Drafting / Engineering Technician to assist in the development of solar mounting systems. Session Solar is the US subsidiary of SolarMarkt AG, established in 1985 in Germany. We design and sell high quality renewable energy systems internationally.

Required Skills:

·         Well versed using AutoCAD in both manufacturing and civil/architectural environments with a minimum 5-years experience.

·         Knowledge of ASME Y14.5M-1994 GD&T drawing standards.

·         Thorough knowledge of manufacturing standards and tolerances such as ISO, ANSI, DIN, ASTM, etc and how they relate to product development and fabrication.

·         Well organized and detail oriented, with ability to manage CAD files and drawing/specification standards.

·         Team player with ability to work independently and follow directions.

·         Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word and Excel

·         Strong English written and communications skills

Additional Qualities:

·         Ability to model in 3-D in either CAD or Solidworks

·         Some level of proficiency in German

·         Interest in solar energy

Responsibilities:

·         Prepare site plans for architectural/civil applications

·         Prepare and/or modify mechanical part drawings with annotations, tolerances and standards.

·         Generally assist engineering in organizational and clerical needs as they arise.
