Structural / Mechanical / Civil Engineer
Session Solar, a national solar company located in Scotts Valley, CA, is seeking a Structural/Mechanical Engineer to assist in the development of solar mounting systems. Job Qualifications
Required Skills:
· Experience performing structural analysis of steel and aluminum parts and assemblies.
· Ability to develop design wind load calculations according to ASCE 7-05.
· Well versed using AutoCAD in both manufacturing and civil/architectural environments.
· Thorough knowledge of structural building codes and standards. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing standards and tolerances such as ISO, ANSI, DIN, ASTM, etc and how they relate to product development and fabrication.
· Team player with ability to work independently and follow directions.
· Proficiency with MS Office suite including Word and Excel.
· Strong English written and communications skills.
Additional Qualities:
· Experience with component testing.
· Ability to analyze individual components using FEA software.
· Genuine interest in and/or experience in solar energy industry.
Responsibilities:
· Perform structural analysis of steel and aluminum parts and assemblies.
· Prepare and/or modify mechanical/structural designs to meet calculated loading of structural members and components, make recommendations for such changes and select materials and methods to most economically manufacture the product.
